A variety of terrain in a small area makes Cyprus a paradise for photographers and painters, such enchanting landscape with miles of golden beaches, pine covered mountains and extensive plains. Mediterranean fruits are here in abundance, olives and grapes, all kinds of citrus trees, pomegranates and almonds and flowers galore mimosa, hibiscus and oleander and the wide range of wildflowers for which Cyprus is so famous.
The locals are welcoming and friendly, many speak English, and life goes at a very gentle pace. Forget the stresses and strains of life, relax and unwind in the tranquil setting of Riverside in Kyrenia, Cyprus. Situated in the foothills of the Besparmak Mountains, in the traditional village of Alsancak the complex is within easy reach of quiet Mediterranean beaches and only 9 kilometres from Kyrenia.
Riverside is run by a friendly Cypriot family who, along with excellent staff, are there to ensure you have an idyllic holiday.
Relish lazy days, relax on your balcony and enjoy wonderful views of sea, mountains, citrus orchards and olive groves. Spend a day by one of the pools, soak up the sun, have lunch at the pool bar which offers excellent choice at reasonable prices. Pamper yourself at the hairdresser, have a manicure or pedicure, a sauna, jacuzzi or massage. Walk in the extensive gardens, with it’s abundance of flowers and fruit trees, enjoy the scent of the jasmine and pick a lemon for that early evening gin and tonic.
For the more energetic there is much to do. A well equipped gym, horse riding or perhaps a Jeep safari. Hire a car or go by bus and visit some of the many historical sites, take a picnic up to the mountains. Perhaps take a stroll along the harbour in Kyrenia, sit and have a cold beer or fresh fruit juice. If you like shopping try Nicosia or perhaps the local markets. There are casinos nearby for those who like a little flutter and discos for the young at heart.
Riverside has a wonderful restaurant and offers a choice of set meal or a la carte menu which can be enjoyed all the more in such a beautiful setting. Saturday night is Cyprus Night, with live music, belly dancer and local entertainment - it’s a good evening out. One evening each week there is a poolside barbecue, what a feast! Enjoy the meal and entertainment in blissful surroundings.
After dinner enjoy a quiet drink in the newly refurbished Ranch Bar. Sit quietly and chat with friends, enjoy the music or a game of cards. Perhaps you would prefer to join in with the entertainment, have a dance; play darts. It's your holiday. |
